Assessment
Each person will be assessed, and a comprehensive treatment plan will be developed. Individualized goals and objectives will be established with recommendations for specific treatment modalities. On completion of a thorough psychosocial and cognitive assessment, a comprehensive treatment plan is developed and reviewed with the person served. Guardians must also sign the treatment plans.
Treatment Modalities:
Individual Counseling—Through the medium of the therapeutic relationship, persons served may express feelings and discuss current or past issues, problems and/or conflicts. RESTORES participation in life.
Family Counseling—Persons served and family members work together to solve problems and resolve conflicts. SOLIDIFIES family support.
Group Counseling—With the support of the group, the person served is able to develop or regain interpersonal desires and skills. DIMINISHES feelings of isolation.
Crisis Intervention—Counselors are available to help facility staff deal with emotional crises as these arise and to assist in the hospitalization process should this level of intervention be indicated. PROVIDES timely stabilization.

CPU became CARF accredited in 2001 and continues to receive three-year accreditations in these programs:
- Out-Patient: Integrated Developmental Disabilities/Mental Health (Adults, Children and Adolescents)
